[edit]There is not need for a hatnote on this page. There is only one "2014 film" titled "Leviathan" and "Leviathan (2014 film)" is not a logical search term for any other article. Per WP:NAMB, there is no need for a hat. BOVINEBOY2008 21:06, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Wrong understanding of "childcare money" dialogue
[edit]When taking guardianship of Roma, Kolya's friends are not driven by wanting to take a money for childcare. Everybody in Russia knows for sure, that childcare money is extremely small. It's a common knowledge - only a child can think that this money may of any use. They are really driven by the guilt of making testimony against Kolya, though this testimony is really truth, and taking into account they really believe Kolya may commit the murder.
This another line, another idea: it's childish way of black-and-white thinking. I.e. if friends made testimony, they are bad and therefore they should make only bad things. Really, even Mayor thinks that he is doing right thing - he is working hardly and risking his position and even freedom to build the church.

- Agreed. The plot summary needs editing for neutrality, containing as it does several statements that are open to interpretation (to say the least). Starting with the description of Kolya as a "simpleton" – he's drinks a bit but I don't see him as particularly unintelligent. A pretty ordinary fellow. Also, "so-called friends" – they actually seem genuine enough, the kind of friends people have, and their decision at the end to tell police about Kolya's threats to Lilia is not an easy one. They do so, however, as a conscientious person would be expected to when a murder has occurred. To me that was the point: how ordinary honesty and truthfulness contribute to disaster when lies and corruption have power. Anyway, I'll try to edit it a bit.--Rallette (talk) 08:18, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- To blindly reject a teenager's view on a subject is wrong. Just because he is a teenager, does it mean his concerns are not valid.-No. He is also not the ordinary teenager that one would see but someone who is facing realities of life much earlier than it is supposed. This itself is enough to put weight on the progressive and heuristic mind state of Roma. Friends of Kolya, don't even want to pay for his automobile repairing services - No matter how small the service charge. This itself shows the greed for money. The very defense that "caretaking" family put forward when Roma asks to understand the nature of thier sudden warmth is also evident to this scheming. So any money they can get, they take - even childcare money. I don't see the portrayed friends as "genuine enough" - none of them E.g.-Dima. It might be the need to justify the writer's sense of morality, enables him/her to express his POV as the truth. I am also having real trouble in understanding the new fact that Lilya was murdered by Vadim's crooked friends. I cant recall this inclination as a fact or may be it is just vandalism.

Reference to Job
[edit]Although the story of Job relates the considerable trials and losses he and his family had to go through, it ends with him being vindicated, and having all restored, and more. So while this film reflects maybe the beginning of Job's history it does not reflect the end.
